DESIGN BRIEF: PARADIS ICE CREAM

DATE: 01/22/15

DESIGNER: Melanie Camargo

CLIENT: Paradis

PROJECT NAME: Paradis Ice cream

PROJECT TYPE/CATEGORY: Brand Logo/Stationary Design

TAGLINE (IF ANY): The Sweet Side of Paradis…

CLIENT INFORMATION: Paradis Ice Cream and Sorbet originated in Denmark in 2000 and opened a franchise in California in 2009.  Their trademark ice cream is made with all natural and high quality ingredients such as fresh milk and pure water.  The ice cream is made fresh daily to catch the fresh flavors at their peak.  Paradis Ice cream prides themselves with a low calorie, low-fat content product made from simple, but time-tested recipes.

COMPETITION:  I found Turkey Hill Dairy as a great competitor to Paradis Ice Cream.  All recipes are made from scratch and dairy uses as much green energy and products available.  In business for 75 years and run mostly by family, the name is known in the northeast in Pennsylvania.

DESIGN CHALLENGE & PROJECT CONCEPTS:  Client states they are looking for a name, logo and stationary design.  They would like to include a shipping truck, box and ice cream and use only 3 colors.  The client would like to use the old concept of “ice cream in a box” that Paradis has created.  The client would also like to have logo in a taller rectangle style.

AUDIENCE/MARKET: Paradis Ice Cream is a product known all over Denmark and now in United States – California.  Ice cream speaks to every one of all ages especially those with high quality ingredients and low calories.

DESIGN:  I would like to incorporate the colors of hot pink, yellow and Cotton Candy blue into the design.  Reminders of a great favorite bubble gum ice cream – it is reminiscent to the by gone days of the ice cream truck that would deliver directly to your door. I will use the container that was specially designed by Paradis showing their ice cream and toppings. My designs will create a reminiscent feeling of a yummy milkshake or sundae by using colors that infatuate the consumer and typography that is dated yet draws someone back to their childhood.
